Grid-skin

Fabrication process

The manufacturing process developed by MTorres requires a lamination process that allows to generate, in an extremely precise way, alternate discontinuities between the superimposed layers, so that the reticular structure grows homogeneously in height. Through the use of the dry fiber for AFP developed by MTorres, by means of a process of joint infusion of skin and reinforcement, a very consolidated and very high quality unique structure is obtained in a completely automated process

Resulting panel

The resulting panel has been tested by NASA, achieving a behavior above that expected thanks to the good cohesion between the skin and the reticulated structure.
